Nujabes, a profoundly influential Japanese record producer, DJ, and composer, is widely regarded as the “godfather” of lo-fi hip-hop. His signature sound was a masterclass in the “jazz-hop” genre, blending smooth, atmospheric jazz samples with understated hip-hop drums, characterized by its melodic, introspective, and soulful nature, creating a sense of peace and nostalgia. Sadly, he passed away in 201,0 but his music still lives on.
